My background is in Engineering and Computer Science, as I have an intrinsic passion for creating things. My true interest lies in developing products that not only showcase innovative design but are also deeply rooted in business functionality and purpose. So the foundation in engineering and business is critical to the way I think.

Work: Iron Man Helmet

I've always had an affinity for building things and exercising my creativity in any form I can. I built this Iron Man helmet from scratch when I was 11 in my garage, without any tutorials, computer software, or pre-made templates.

There were a few videos on YouTube of people using software to design the mask in 3D, which would translate 3D models into 2D templates. I didn't have a sufficiently powerful computer for 3D Modelling, so I analysed the videos by eye and used my drawing skills to create my own templates from scratch using pen and pencil. I iterated until they accurately formed the mask shape as seen in the movies when translated into a 3D shape.

I started by building the entire helmet using paper/card and then I purchased fibreglass, resin, and car filler. First, I applied a few coats of resin over the card to reinforce the structure, and then I added fibreglass to make the helmet rigid. Car filler was then used to smooth the harsh edges and create a sculpt over the helmet, which I would sand later.
